I’m a native Brit living in Southern California. My passions are reading, writing, solving puzzles and watching crime shows. In fact, I fancy myself as a bit of an amateur sleuth. Occasionally, I’ve been known to get up off the couch and venture outside to enjoy the sunshine.
My first novel MADNESS AND MURDER is an international psychological thriller which takes the reader on a journey from Oaland to New Zealand and San Francisco. Homicide cop Mac Jackson is on a collision course with a civilian in his hunt for a killer.
NO ALIBI is a suspenseful whodunnit set in San Francisco. An airline pilot goes missing and his girlfriend is murdered. As homicide cop John Doucette uncovers the dark secrets surrounding the case, he faces difficult moral decisions when his investigation forces him to unearth his own past.
By popular demand, Mac Jackson returns in HIDE AND SEEK a San Francisco mystery. A private party takes a chilling turn when a guest disappears.
If you’re beginning to think San Francisco is my favorite place in the US, you’d be right. I love it there. So much to see and do. So easy for a killer to move around.
STONE COLD is a psychological thriller set in Oxfordshire, England. In the aggressive world of advertising, competition is fierce. When a sex scandal threatens to ruin his prestigious firm, Charles Dean intends to handle it himself. However, someone else has other ideas and their own reason for bringing him down.
THE BLACKEST NIGHT is the 3rd in the Jackson detective series and is a psychological thriller with just a touch of paranormal. “One man is scrambling to stay alive…while another man is seeking the truth.”
Homicide inspector Mac Jackson is leading inquiries in a murder investigation. When an anonymous tip connects two seemingly unrelated crimes, Jackson learns a wrongfully convicted ex-con might be the only person who can lead him to the truth.
OK, I finally found your “blog”…so now I can keep track of my most literary friend. I am so pleased that your writing efforts are going so well, and am looking forward to your novel. Nothing better than a good murder mystery yarn on a cold winter night! Be good…see you next week around the second floor!
Hi Betsy: Yes…nothing like a chilling good murder by a roasting fire!!!
Thanks for the shout out! I’m having fun writing this series.

The blog looks great! Glad to connect with you over “stinking badges” and see L.J. Sellers here – another new “friend” I’ve met over Twitter! Look forward to reading more of your work! Best, Laura
Thank you, Laura. Stinking badges is fun and exhausting. Great to learn, I just wish I could be quicker. Glad to connect with you here, as well as Scribd.
Jenny, you graciously wrote a review of my ebook, A Spy At Home, for Amazon. I have just released my second ebook, Hazardous Choices, on Amazon, and I would very much like for you to review it as well. Here is a brief blurb:
After surviving life in a violent Chicago street gang through his high school years, Darnell Jackson’s future appears promising. A football scholarship gives him the chance to escape the thug lifestyle.
During his first year in college, Darnell safely resides in a small Kentucky town, playing Division Two college football and trying to make something of himself. Adjusting to the new surroundings proves tough, but a teammate and a girl give him hope that his future will be better than his past.
In the summer after his freshman year, he returns to the old neighborhood to be with his mother. The gang reasserts its hold on him, and the leader orders Darnell to kill a specific member of a rival gang. Nearly dying in a gang fight, Darnell shoots an enemy gangbanger; unfortunately, it is the wrong target. This forces Darnell to re-evaluate his future. As a result, he lies to the mercurial leader of his gang, claiming he completed his assignment. After “doing work” for his gang, Darnell receives permission to head back to school and the security of small-town life.
When the head gangbanger learns of Darnell’s lie, the small Kentucky town isn’t so safe anymore.

Looking forward to One Bad Thing… you have come a long way from that first chapter. Awesome 👏Super proud, an old Facebook friend, Suzanne
This has been the hardest one to write, but it was worth the extra time it took. I love working with homicide investigator Doucette and am already on chapter 13 of the next one 🙂
