November is fast approaching and that means NaNoWriMo is right around the corner. Already. Hard to believe how fast the year has gone. For anyone who hasn’t tried NaNo, this is National Novel Writing Month and a chance to challenge yourself and drive yourself a little bonkers at the same time by trying to complete a 50,000 word novel all within the 30 days of November.
I tried it four years ago. While I loved the idea and the community aspect, with lots of little NaNo groups hanging out in local writing spots and encouraging each other, I’m not sure I’m ready to do it again. By the end of November, I was frazzled and ended up with a 50,000 word chick-lit story I don’t know what to do with. I still don’t how that happened (the chick-lit, I mean). I’ll admit the challenge was awesome, because I never imagined I’d come up with anything resembling a story in 30 days.
Who’s up for NaNo?
